Get Younger, Fresher-Looking Skin With Ultherapy®

Aging can come with some undesirable side effects, like sagging facial skin and wrinkles and fine lines on the chest. The good news is there are ways we can reduce these issues to leave you looking and feeling your best.

Here at Lincoln Park Aesthetics, located in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago, Drs. Karol Gutowski and Julia Kerolus, along with our highly skilled staff, offer a wide range of premier aesthetic services and cosmetic procedures to restore, revitalize, and rejuvenate — including Ultherapy®.

Ultherapy basics

Ultherapy is a nonsurgical treatment designed to reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and sagging by lifting and tightening your skin. It is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and is most often performed on the face, including eyebrows, neck, and under the chin, and the chest or décolletage area.

Treatment works by employing ultrasound energy to targeted areas under the skin to stimulate collagen and elastic tissue. The applicator's heat energy typically focuses on three different depths — superficial wrinkles, skin, and muscle — for the best possible results.

Ultherapy treatment

We begin with an initial consultation where we discuss your concerns and examine your skin to make sure you’re a good candidate for Ultherapy. Then we create a personalized treatment plan customized for you.

On the day of your Ultherapy procedure, we start by cleaning the area and applying the ultrasound gel. Next, we use the special applicator to direct the energy precisely to the area being treated.

Depending on the location where you’re receiving Ultherapy and your individual goals, the procedure can last anywhere from a half-hour to 90 minutes. Feelings of heat or tingling may occur in quick, intermittent bursts.

Ultherapy preparation and recovery

There is little you need to do to prepare for the procedure. You can maintain your everyday routines involving eating, drinking, and workouts. However, do not apply makeup or other skin-care products to the area being treated on the day of your procedure.

There’s no downtime for recovery needed after the treatment, although you may experience some mild redness, tenderness, or swelling for a short period of time. You can resume daily activities including work and exercise right away.

Ultherapy results

Some people begin to notice younger, fresher-looking skin within several days of the procedure, but it can take up to three months to see the full effect. Long-term results depend on how your body responds to the treatment, including how long it keeps making new collagen before the natural aging process begins breaking it down again.

Many people have just one treatment, while others might have more due to their individual responses. Touch-ups are another option to extend treatment results.

If you're tired of seeing sagging skin, wrinkles, or fine lines, call our office today at 618-224-3346 to make an appointment and find out if Ultherapy is right for you.
